Allynn Young is a Licensed Professional Counselor and native Oklahoman. She received her Master’s degree in counseling from Oklahoma State University after completing her undergraduate work at The University of Oklahoma. After spending several years in administrative positions, Allynn felt called to pursue a career in counseling. Once the journey began, she found that counseling was not simply a career choice, but a call to service. Creating an environment of compassion, empathy, safety, and openness, Allynn works with her clients to improve their mental health and live a more satisfying life.

Allynn is known for a warm, relaxed, and nurturing approach to counseling. She focuses on an integrated approach to therapy by utilizing a variety of orientations and therapies based on the client's individual needs. Allynn works with clients from a strength-based, positive, and affirming perspective. She enjoys working with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship/family concerns, unresolved emotional issues, self-esteem/self-empowerment, grief and loss, and creating more meaning and purpose in one's life. Her specialties also include working with clients with substance abuse/addictions and co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance abuse disorders).

In addition to serving the community through counseling, Allynn spent 8 years serving her country as a United States Marine. Her experience in the Marine Corps opened her eyes to the unwavering resilience of the human spirit and the steady courage of those who sacrifice so much.

To maintain balance in her life, Allynn enjoys spending time with her son and extended family. She coaches her son’s soccer team and is a regular at his Lego table. She loves lake days during the summer, playing chase with her Border Collie, and dinner with friends. She also makes time for travel and loves creating new experiences to foster spiritual and emotional growth and wellness.
