Rachael Touma is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, specializing in the treatment of psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Oklahoma and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama; she also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Northeastern State University. She has a wide range of nursing experience in medical areas of intensive care and surgery/trauma, but mental health has always been her passion. Her love for psychiatry began in 2009 while working with children and adolescents with autism, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurocognitive disorders. Additional mental health experience includes attachment disorders, depression, mood disorders, attention-deficit disorder, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders, among many others. She has worked in several treatment settings including outpatient, residential, and acute inpatient with patients of all ages. She prides herself as a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA), National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corp (OKMRC).
Rachael takes an individualized approach to care by tailoring treatment plans specifically to each one of her patients. She truly believes a healthy patient-provider relationship to be the staple of her practice and promotes mental wellness through medication management, various types of therapy, and spiritual enlightenment.
In her free time, Rachael enjoys watching sports but especially loves softball and baseball. She also enjoys playing guitar and drums, crafting, and spending time with her husband, 2 children, and beagle.
