Teri Burnett is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board-Certified Music Therapist who has been in professional clinical practice since 1988 and practicing in the Tulsa area since 1992.

Teri received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas in and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Teri has worked in outpatient, residential, and inpatient settings with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients struggling with mental health, substance abuse, and compulsive gambling problems.  For the past 23 years, she maintained a private behavioral health practice in Tulsa and provided adoption home study services while raising her two daughters until her return to full time work at St. John Medical Center and Cancer Treatment Centers of America.  Teri has extensive experience with adolescents and families, couples, and adults.  Additional mental health experience includes treating anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders, infertility and adoption issues, and integrative behavioral health with oncology patients.

Teri takes an individualized and whole person approach (mind/body/spirit) in helping clients.  She is respectful of clients’ spiritual and cultural beliefs and uses a variety of interventions including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Communication Techniques, Music Therapy, mindfulness, and integration of faith practices into therapy.  Teri is also a Board Approved Supervisor for Clinical Social Work in Oklahoma.

Teri enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, close friends, and her dog.  She enjoys gardening, being in nature playing piano, and singing with her a capella women’s chorus, and participating on her church Worship Team.
